1. Pushpa 2:

pushpa 2 Reloded

The Rule Reloaded: Pushpa 2 hit theaters yesterday with 20 minutes of new scenes added! Shockingly, a full HD print is already online, with amazing HD audio. The movie is now 3 hours and 43 minutes long. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – we need to strongly condemn these online leaks! My family and I spent four hours this morning (7:00 AM onwards) vehemently condemning this piracy. We all have a moral responsibility to follow the rules.

I won’t spoil the new 20 minutes, but let’s just say it involves Shikhavat, red sandalwood, and a super meeting between Pushpa and the syndicate members. There’s also a scene similar to the Jalli Reddy scene from Pushpa 1, a fight in Japan, and a resolution to the cliffhanger from Pushpa 1 that leads into Pushpa 3 (or so we thought!). A small marriage scene is added to the climax. So, should you watch it in theaters? If you haven’t seen it yet, definitely go with your family and enjoy it on the big screen, especially since it’s Sankranti season! Remember to condemn the online HD leak!

2. Anand sreebala :

Anand sreebala

A Malayalam crime investigation thriller. Crime thrillers are always popular, and this one is no exception. A girl dies under suspicious circumstances, and our hero, Anandham (whose mother’s name is Sribala, and the heroine’s name is also Sribala!), investigates whether it was suicide or murder. The story keeps you engaged until the end, revealing the truth in a gripping climax. The investigation scenes are particularly well done. I’d give it a 70/100. It’s suitable for family viewing and available on Prime OTT in Malayalam.

3. Pani (The Game):

pani trailer

A Telugu action thriller that’s been receiving mixed reviews. Some love it, some hate it. A mega-blockbuster in Malayalam, this movie showcases Jojo’s talent in acting and direction. The story is simple: a hero and his family take revenge on two ruthless villains. His mother’s character, though brief, is impactful. The BGM keeps the movie engaging. I give it a 70/100. It contains a lip lock scene, adult content, and violence; viewer discretion advised. Available on Sony OTT.

4. Minimini:

minimini

A feel-good Telugu drama. This movie focuses on the journey of two childhood friends, from their childhood to their teens. It took seven years to film due to the actors’ growth! The first half was shot in 2015, and the second in 2022. Hats off to that! The movie depicts their bike trip from Tamil Nadu to Ladakh. This one isn’t for everyone, but it’s unique. A.R. Rahman’s daughter, Khatija Rahman, composed the music for this. 60/100. Family-friendly and available on ETV OTT.

5. Suzhal (Season 1):

suzhal

A Telugu crime investigation series. Why am I recommending this now? Because Season 2 releases on February 21st! Watch this one before the new season to refresh your memory. For me, this is one of the best Indian web series. The storyline is gripping, with crime, love, murder, and mystery. Each episode highlights a different emotion. All eight episodes are engaging, with no unnecessary scenes or filler. 85/100. Available on Prime OTT. Don’t miss it!

6. ALANGU:

alangu

A Tamil action thriller (70/100). It revolves around the conflicts between villages on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border and regional differences. The hero moves to Kerala for work, adopts a dog, and gets entangled in an incident involving a politician’s daughter. The plot explores the connection between the dog and the incident, and how it turns the hero’s life upside down. It’s based on real incidents. Decent and watchable, but it’s only available in Tamil and lacks a heroine, though the BGM is excellent. Available on Prime OTT.

7. Paatal Lok (Season 2):

paatal lok

A Telugu crime investigation thriller. Season 2 is weaker than Season 1. You can watch it for the character connections from Season 1, but it introduces a new murder case and the investigation by officers Hathiram and Ansari. 70/100. It’s not groundbreaking but is a good time-passer. Available on Prime OTT. It’s generally family-friendly, but contains some mild bold language.

8. 1899:

1899

A sci-fi thriller series (70/100). Directed by the same people who made the acclaimed “Dark” series, this has an engaging, if complex, plot. The first episode is simple, but the series steadily builds suspense, culminating in unexpected twists from episode 5 onwards. The final scene is a real shocker! Available on Netflix with English and Hindi audio.

9. Rifle Club:

refil club

A dark comedy action thriller (60/100) in Telugu. Malayalam movies continue to impress with their thrillers and action films. The storyline is concise and the budget was low (under 10 crore). The first 30 minutes are slow, but the pace picks up after that, culminating in a thrilling climax. It focuses on a group of sharpshooters and their relationship with a gangster. Available on Netflix.

10. Mouse:

mouse

A crime thriller series (90/100). This series features unexpected twists and a unique writing style. The story involves two psychopaths and their connection to a smart character, Smart Shankar. The series offers a surprising final twist that will stay with you. It’s recommended to watch two episodes per day for a 10-day viewing experience. Available on Prime OTT, but unfortunately not dubbed in Telugu or Hindi.

Conclusion:

This blog post provides a diverse range of movie and series recommendations across various genres, including action thrillers, crime investigations, and dark comedies.
